Rhine Discovery Itinerary

The Rhine valley radiates with year-round colour, from the lush greens of spring to vibrant reds and oranges that herald the autumn. Among this canvas of colour are rich vineyards, fairytale castles, quaint villages and picturesque towns, all waiting to be discovered. During our cruise we visit some of the most impressive places, including Rüdesheim, Koblenz and Cologne, which nestle at the water’s edge making it easy to venture from the comfort of our ship. It really is the perfect introduction to river cruising, taking in many highlights in a short space of time, while giving you every opportunity to relax. Even if you are an avid river cruiser, it’s a great chance to enjoy a short break through one of Europe’s most beautiful river valleys.

Day 1: UK – Koblenz
We travel to Koblenz and settle aboard our ship.

Day 2: Koblenz – Rüdesheim
Casting off this morning we cruise through the dramatic narrow Rhine Gorge to reach the attractive Rhineland town of Rüdesheim. You can explore at leisure or join our optional Rüdesheim highlights excursion, which features a panoramic ride to the heights of the gorge by cable car. Later, why not join our optional evening excursion in Rüdesheim to seek out the captivating inclined street called the Drosselgasse and enjoy some local wine tasting.

Day 3: Rüdesheim – Boppard – Koblenz
We retrace our route back down the spectacular Rhine Gorge as far as Boppard, the meeting place of six valleys, you will have free time to explore. In the afternoon we cruise to the walled city of Koblenz where our optional excursion visits Sayn Palace and its beautiful Butterfly Garden. You can then end the day with a relaxing evening in the medieval centre of Koblenz.

Day 4: Koblenz – Bonn – Cologne
The birthplace of Beethoven and former capital of western Germany, Bonn, is our destination this morning.
